The fuel control system in newer cars is much more efficient than the carburetors in older cars. Newer cars contain fuel injection systems which actually spray fuel directly into the engine when it is needed. The engine combines this fuel with air. This mix is highly combustible. Your spark plugs provide ignition at just the right moment and produce a small explosion which moves parts of the engine and provide the power which turns the wheels and drive you down the road. Fuel injection can vary the mixture according to the conditions, which are read by a computer connected to the engine of your car. A professional cleaning for fuel injection systems is generally recommended at least annually. Using a fuel additive quarterly also cleans the internal components.
